2008: One snowy January, 12 years ago, Soham started its first kids class in the city at Menomonee Club in Lincoln Park, with this tiny artist, Ashna Satpathy, only 4 years old at that time. Two years later she performed in her first and Soham’s first student recital in the very same building (these pictures are from then). Now she’s taking class three times a week, preparing for her arangetram this summer. I want to celebrate how journeys into the unknown unfold unpredictably but, in this case, beautifully. Come celebrate with us, February 14th, during Pilsen’s 2nd Fridays Open Studios, at our current home 1932 S Halsted. We’ll be hangin and dancin, with some snacks as well!

We are proud of the vibrant kids and adults program developed over the years at Soham Dance Space. While our current studio program has been intentionally scaled back, we are actively teaching a focused cohort of dedicated students.

In particular, we are most excited about the upcoming arangetram of Ashna Satpathy and Anjali Prachand on July 25, 2020, at Vittum Theater in Chicago. Please save the date, and join us for what is already shaping up to be a beautiful program!

On the horizon - we may begin to host adults classes and children’s workshops again in the near future. Please sign up on our mailing list to learn about future opportunities to get involved.
